Font2 finally has something to say. For reasons not easily explained, I follow the news about the Balkans regularly. It's just a region in which I happen to have an interest. Particularly when it comes to massive trumpet bacchanalia. For a few minutes there, things seemed to be going relatively well, at least. New trade agreements, meetings with the Americans, talk of joining the EU, massive crackdowns on corruption and crime, most of which indicates something like good news for the ordinary people of the region. You can argue that it's all a vast NATO conspiracy, and there may even be some truth in that, but overall, economic growth and the stability of civic institutions would be a good thing.

And then some asshole has to get out the Kalashnikovs and start blowing away a bunch of kids. It's just depressing...
